1 Fewer color difference in your cabinets, counter-top and woodwork makes the eyes stream over the surfaces to rest on, gives a larger dimension.

2 The invasion of the sun's light enlarges any area especially small spaces.

3 The look into an area through a glass can add to a more spacious accommodation.
4 Slender furniture and/or appliances gives a bigger geometric dimension of your small kitchen space. This gives a wider look of your cooking room.

5 By removing dividing walls, this does not technically add space but it creates an open air in your kitchen. If you can't deal without walls, perhaps you can do with an open wall, the one that opens into your living room.

6 Clean clutter on counter top because it causes your eyes to stumble on many things causing your kitchen to feel smaller. By keeping your little gadgets like coffee maker away, your counter-tops will be wider.
7 Expanding floor space does not literally mean to create more floor space but painting your floor with wide prints to give the eyes longer course to follow from one side of the room to the other. You can do a stripped-alternating light and medium colored flooring.

8 Install furnishing that heightens the view of the room. Through this, you can diminish the feel of being caved in your own kitchen.

10 Choose light and bright, lighting system of kitchen.

Filipino Kitchen with Time and Solid Surface

The Filipino kitchen, like all other kitchens, is the place where food is prepared. But its appearance is unlike other kitchens, American, English and Japanese for example.
kitchen-design-ideas.org

American kitchens usually have smaller dining table where the inhabitants usually have their meal. English kitchen on the other hand can be related to a work place with a scullery. The Japanese kitchen is centered with the stove and hearth since cooking is done in an open fire which can be found in a kitchen detached from the main house to avoid the smoke from smothering the house, but as time passed it was absorbed into the house.

The Filipino kitchen in a way has also a different beginning from the stated kitchens of the 2 western kitchens and likely similar to its mentioned neighboring country.

The Filipino kitchen is mainly for preparation of food unlike the American one which includes breakfast table and island table. Its main components are the Kalans, palayok, kawalis, kawas, bangas, almirez, sandok, sianse, gilingan, sangkalan, kudkuran, lamera, batidor, tacho, and garapinera.
Aside from the everyday kitchen where meals/foods are prepared, Filipinos have a detached hut/roofed-open space. This detached structure is called the “dirty kitchen” because Filipinos usually use charcoal in this place for cooking to either save in the expense on LPG and/or for fiestas when a household requires to cook as much as possible for visitors. Like its neighbor, the Japanese kitchen, this isolated space also helps the users to avoid smoke from entering the house.

But like any other modernization, the appearance of the Filipino kitchen has evolved as time passed though its components and the dirty kitchen are mostly preserved since these are still useful especially during special occasions. Some if not most houses, however, use the "dirty kitchen" more commonly than those who can easily avail the LPG, hence the dirty kitchen may be the direct kitchen. Philippine kitchen also had incorporated American concept of designing kitchens. One of which is incorporating stones, marbles and/or solid surfaces either as counter tops, kitchen sink and table/island top.

Incorporation of solid surfaces in the kitchen does not only gives elegance and the impression of being able to afford something even when that something seems expensive since this somehow boosts one's confidence, it is also helpful since having solid surface a part of one's house offers various advantages especially when most Filipinos love to spend most of their time in the kitchen.
